Criminal Defense

From the initial charges in criminal court at arraignment, through motions practice and trial, our firm can represent you whether you are charged with anything from a misdemeanor to serious felony. We regularly practice in both the Franklin County Municipal Court as well as the Common Pleas Court.

Post Conviction

In law, post-conviction refers to the legal process which takes place after a trial results in conviction of the defendant. Kura, Wilford & Schregardus Co., L.P.A. can assist you through different legal actions, from filing an appeal with the appellate courts through pursuing relief in federal habeas corpus proceedings. Parole

Clemency

Among all post-conviction remedies, Executive Clemency is the most unique. Under the Ohio Constitution, the Governor of the State of Ohio has broad power to grant Executive Clemency. Kura, Wilford & Schregardus Co., L.P.A. can assist with Executive Clemency through Either communication of sentence and / or pardon of conviction.

Our Firm

Kura, Wilford & Schregardus Co., L.P.A. was founded in November, 1996 by attorneys James P. Kura and Barry W. Wilford as a criminal defense law firm. Building upon many years of experience as criminal defense trial lawyers, Kura and Wilford worked together to develop a unique law practice—a practice that specializes in post-conviction remedies for inmates within the Ohio prison population as well as traditional criminal defense services. Sarah Schregardus joined the firm in 2010 and became a partner in 2013 to form Kura, Wilford & Schregardus Co., L.P.A. – a firm that can address all of a a client’s needs within the criminal justice system.
